Maria, a 7 year old, 120 lb spayed Alaskan Malamute very affectionate to people, loves riding in the car and going on short hikes, particularly in snow country. She is a good ski dog. She knows her name and when you say it to her she gets prettty excited. Although somewhat of an Alpha, she gets along with most dogs in the right situation. She has probably never killed anything, although you should be cautious around cats. Small dogs have not been a problem, as long as they stay out of her way (and her food)!
Current foster dad lives at Donner Lake in Truckee, CA. in a small house with a small, steep yard and also has another dog (120 lb male malamute/lab mix). Maria really needs a fenced yard, although is pretty well housebroken and enjoys her time inside. She’s on meds to control a bladder problem fairly common for older, spayed females. The medication isn't very expensive, and you give her one pill a week.
