My Story

In the heart of an unforgiving industrial park, a timid soul found herself lost and alone. This gal, scarred by a past shrouded in mystery, would embark on a remarkable journey of transformation, from crippling fear to the blossoming of trust and love. Beneath her imposing exterior was a spirit burdened by past traumas. For how long she had wandered the hot, echoing industrial park nobody could tell. Worse was what humans had done to her in her past. She bore the scars of her ordeal, both seen and unseen, and the fear in her eyes told a story of anguish and hardship. After being rescued, she was named Marge. Her foster mom calls her Margelicious Miss Piggy Potato Butt. She was wary and shied away from human touch, her fear deeply rooted in her very being. Yet, beneath the layers of uncertainty, there was a glimmer of hope - a resilience that we’ve seen many times with pitbulls and bully breeds. Marge's heart, though bruised, was still open to the possibility of trust and companionship she just needed a chance. Marge's journey to recovery began with patient, gentle volunteers who refused to give up on her. A dedicated team of people showered her with unwavering love and care. They recognized the strength within her, the longing for connection, and vowed to help her heal and get her into a foster home where she could feel a soft bed. Day by day, Marge learned to take steps forward. Slowly but surely, she began to understand that not all humans meant harm, that some could be a source of comfort and kindness. Today, Marge has grown into a beautiful potato, who still is weary of strangers and men, but her fearful eyes shine with a glimmer of trust that is hard-won and worth every effort. Marge's journey reminds us that, with love and patience, we can help even the most damaged hearts find healing. Margie would be best in a quiet home with a fur playmate, minimal visitors and a family that can go very slow with her. The key to her heart is slow and steady and lots of butt scratches.
