Margarita

Meet Margarita, a female, 13-year-old, Chihuahua and Dachshund Mix. She weighs 10 pounds. Margarita arrived at the shelter as an owner surrender due to them no longer being able to care for her. Her nickname is Chica. Margarita is in her retirement, and she loves to sunbath and lay around all day. She is a proper lady and is house trained. She has done well with cats in the past. Margarita would prefer being your only dog, but could live with another mellow dog who will be respectful of her space. She appreciates time to adapt to new places and would feel most comfortable in a quiet home with kids 8-and-up. Margarita will need an indoor home and a secure containment area to stay safe from wandering and escaping. Positive reinforcement, fear-free training will be needed. Daily exercise and mental enrichment will be very important. If you have other dogs in your home, we would be happy to arrange a meet and greet with your dog(s) to make sure everyone gets along. We do not know how she will do with cats. Margarita is up to date on vaccines, microchipped, spayed, and ready to go home today. The shelter is currently open by appointment only.
