Come meet Marble and other great adoptable dogs this Sunday (Aug. 4th) from 12-3 pm at the Petsmart in Alexandria (3351 Richmond Hwy, Alexandria, VA 22305)!
Name: Marble Best Guess for Breed: Pekingese and Chihuahua mix
Best Guess for Age: 6 years as of July 2024 SEX: Female
Approximate Weight: 18 lbs
Gets Along With: Other dogs! We haven't seen her with cats but she can be tested. She should not go to a home with children under the age of 12.
Currently Living at: DC area foster home
Special adoption considerations: We think Marble would do best in a home without children under the age of 12
Marble is Looking For: Her forever home! Through no fault, this puppers with the utterly cute underbite now needs a new home. She is eager to once again have her own humans for sniffy walks and world exploration and cuddles on the sofa.
Marble is a sweetie - one with a personality and a mind of her own. Because young children might look at dogs as animated stuffed animals and galumph over and try to snuggle without checking whether they are indeed in the mood for snugs, she would do best in a home without children under the age of 12.
Being smart and experienced, she also knows what's most important in life - being safe and loved and under her own roof for all her days. She offers adoring gazes (again with that adorable underbite!) and loyal companionship in exchange. What do you say? Is there a Marble shaped gap in your home and your heart?
What My Foster Says About Me: We've only had Marble for a short time but so far, she is fabulous. She is the easiest foster we have had. She is so sweet and easy going at home and has let us pick her up, rub her belly, touch her feet but can get sassy when she's touched in a way she doesn't like (such as during medical care).
She loves being in the crate and even goes in there herself during the day to relax. She is still trying to figure out how to play with my resident dog and mostly just follows him around. She whines for him to chase her, but he won't, so she'll wander away and lay down. He has corrected her a couple of times when she was trying to lick him and she just wandered away.
She will sit and lay down and stay on command, and likes treats, but isn't necessarily food motivated and doesn't eat a lot. She hasn't had any accidents in the house and walks easy on the leash as well as going to the door to go out in the fenced yard. She curls up on the couch or bed near us, but isn't overly in our face. She's really pretty great.
Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken. All of our dogs are working on their crate training.
