My Story

Personality: Maizy is a bundle of joy with boundless energy and an insatiable zest for life. Despite her rough start as a stray, she has retained her sweet nature and is ready to embrace every new experience with enthusiasm. Maizy is the perfect companion for those seeking an adventurous spirit to join them on hikes, runs, and outdoor escapades. Background: Maizy's journey to our shelter began when she was found as a stray and sent to us from another shelter. Despite the uncertainty she faced, Maizy has proven to be resilient and adaptable, eagerly awaiting the opportunity to find her forever home where she can thrive. Special Considerations: While Maizy's exuberance is infectious, she has shown some signs of OCD behavior, which we are currently addressing with treatment. Prospective adopters should be aware of this and prepared to provide the support and structure she needs to manage this condition. Additionally, Maizy exhibits herding tendencies, so it's recommended that she be placed in a home with older children who can understand and respect her instincts. Maizy is not compatible with cats, but with proper introductions, she may be able to live harmoniously with another dog. Hobbies: Maizy's favorite pastime is exploring the great outdoors and soaking up the sights and smells of nature. She's a true adventurer at heart and would thrive in a home with a yard where she can run and play to her heart's content. Whether it's hiking through the mountains or going for a jog in the park, Maizy is always up for any adventure. Ideal Home: Maizy is searching for an active and experienced family who can keep up with her energy and provide her with plenty of mental and physical stimulation. An adopter who is committed to continuing her training and providing her with a structured environment would be ideal. Maizy's forever home should be one filled with love, patience, and plenty of opportunities for outdoor fun. If you're interested in giving Maize the loving home she deserves or wish to know more about Her, please contact us at 603-352-9011 or stop by during open hours, Thursday-Sunday 11-3.
