Magnum is a 7 year old, 100Lbs., Swiss Mountain Dog mix who lived in a home where he has been very happy. Sadly, after blissful years with his owner Magnum now needs to be re-homed because his owner became seriously ill and had to be placed in a hospice. Even though Magnum’s owner has loved and cared for him and his best friend Katie (also available for adoption from DogsOnly) for the last three years, the illness and move into a hospice means that his owner is no longer able to take care of Magnum and Katie. It could be a sad ending for all involved, unless that is, a new home and loving family could be found.
Oddly enough, Magnum likes an old sock as a pacifier. He seems to thrive on the company of people, and doesn’t like to be alone. He is a very gentle but big guy. As much as he likes to see his friends, he does not jump on people nor has he ever done so. Magnum is quite the gentleman! A 3 year old grand kid plays all over him, and ol’ Magnum takes it all in his stride. He knows a few simple commands like sit, beg etc. He does tend to pull too hard on a leash, but calms down in just a moment or two.
Magnum is up to date on his shots, and has been neutered.
Magnum is an independent rescue supported by DogsOnly, and so will not be attending the DogsOnly adoption showings at Petco on Chenal across from Target and Home Depot in west Little Rock, but if you would like to learn more or even meet him you can send an email to
[email protected]. You can also complete an online adoption application by clicking the links at the top or bottom of this page. Your application or emails will be sent to magnum's guardians without delay.
All DogsOnly foster homes work with our rescues to ensure they are crate trained and most are also housetrained. None of the DogsOnly fosters have cats in their homes so we can only make our best guess as to how our rescues would do with cats. We rescue from high kill shelters and once accepted into our program, none of our rescues are euthanized. We provide for all their vet care, socialization and training until an appropriate home can be found.
DogsOnly relies solely on donations and is a 501(c)3 Humane Society. Our mission is to rescue dogs that most other groups are not interested in due to their size, breed, age, health or other various reasons, and to provide education resources for dog owners and those with an interest in the wellbeing of dogs. DogsOnly believes that no dog should be left behind.
