My Story

Hi! I'm Maggie. I'm from Kentucky. From her foster: Maggie is a seven year old Minature Schnauzer who is very friendky and a fun character. She has a lovely grey wavy coat and very cute upright folded over ears. She loves her food and likes to sleep in a wire crate at night. During the day she is happy in a dog bed and will be with you all the time follows closely at your heels. She can bark and yap when you leave her to go shopping and waits for you to come home. She is completely house trained and will wait for you to take her outside to potty. Does well on a leash likes to go on a little walk, loves chasing wildlife in our back yard. She does well with our dogs but keeps herself to herself she is very independant and doesn't really like to be cuddled. Occasionaly will want to sit on your lap for a short while. With other dogs she likes to take on the role of Police Dog barking until everyone has stopped playing. She is alert to her surroundings a good little guard dog if someone comes to the door or she hears a noise outside. Maggie is a great companion dog likes children she has a tendancy to want to run if there is an open door so adopter will need to be mindful so she doesn't run out the door and get lost. From the Vet: Maggie is looking for a senior loving home! She will need a home where she can be monitored for symptoms of allergies ie. itchy/infected skin, ear infections and treated as needed with a primary care vet. Currently her symptoms are managed with an allergy injection every 4-6 weeks. TBB will agree to cover 1 of these injections so her new home is familiar with the treatment. Maggie had a dental procedure during which she got some extractions, a cleaning and had a gingival mass removed that came back benign. These types of tumors do have a low rate of recurrence however any future masses should be evaluated and treated according to a primary care veterinarians recommendations and would be the financial responsibility of her adopter.
