You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. All dogs require an approved Best Friend Pet Adoption application before you can be considered or meet any of our dogs. Maddy is a young dog (around 14mos old the end of July) who recently had a litter of puppies. She was an excellent Mom to her puppies and now Maddy is looking for her forever home. She is smart, loyal, loving, the perfect size at around 32lbs and she wants to meet you! She is a very friendly dog and wants to meet all humans. She can be a little over anxious in meeting people, so she may be too active for very young children. She would do fine with older children. Maddy is used to being in a puppy pen since she was still nursing her puppies. So she would do well in a puppy pen and would need to learn to be in a crate. She is used to sleeping in her puppy pen. If an adopter works away from the home, she would need to be confined to a pen or crate until she understands the house rules. Maddy is still young and active! She is housebroken but should be taken outside on a regular schedule to get her acclimated to her new home. She likes toys and lots of them. Maddy could live with other dogs or would be fine as an only dog. She has had minimal experience with other dogs so far because she is still protective with her puppies. Once she is separated from her puppies, we feel she will be very dog friendly. She has no experience around cats. Maddy is a quiet dog and while she would like a fence yard, she would be fine with daily walks. She would probably be fine with apartment living. She is smart, loving, loyal and will be a perfect addition to your family. BFPA will cover all her medical care until she can safely be spayed. But she can start a trial adoption right now! Please consider giving Maddy the loving home she is searching for. We will also consider a foster situation if you are not ready to commit to adoption now. EVERY DOG HAS A STORY: Maddy was found as a stray and taken to a local shelter. She had puppies at the shelter. Best Friend Pet Adoption rescued Maddy and her 4 puppies. Applicants must live no further than one hour from Cary NC as our dogs must be seen by a BFPA veterinarian for all medical care prior to adoptions being finalized. Our foster guardians deliver dogs to their new homes for adoption trials and we do home visits to finalize all adoptions. We therefore require applicants to live within an hours drive of Cary NC.
