Maddie

Dogs - best as only dog, possibly an older quite male Cats - not tested but unlikely Special Needs - Approx 9 years old, Maddie has Spondylosis, and arthritis. She will require supportive medical care and the shelter will cover those costs. A home with no stairs would be preferred. Nov 2/23 update - Maddie went into a home for a quick vacation and we learned a few important things. She will need a home in a quiet area as she is still quite reactive to noises on the other side of the fence and will bark. Maddie loves to be outside and has developed some selective hearing issues when it's time to come back in! We think her old guard dog days have left a lasting impression and she still feels the need to keep an eye on things. We are hopeful the right home is out there for our special girl! Miss Maddie has a lot to smile about! Maddie arrived in pretty rough shape, from a less than ideal situation. It didn't take long for her to settle in and show us her big smile. She loves to be brushed and will quickly roll over for a tummy rub. Maddie was used as a guard dog so can bark at the fence on occasion and like most Shepherds, has a big bark! Maddie loves her walks and happily sniffs her way along without pulling. Maddie was around other dogs in her previous life, and has met a few calm male dogs with us. She would need to be properly introduced to any dogs in the home prior to adoption, and males would likely be best. Maddie may look a little rough around the edges, but she is a happy and silly girl who loves belly rubs.
