Mabel

Mabel is a young, black small to medium sized mix that is a true survivor. She came to the shelter as a stray with 3 very young and fragile pups who were all nearly bald with mange. Mabel has nursed and cared for those pups ever since and has shown us what a kind, affectionate and determined dog she is. Mabel loves attention from people, but her priority has always been the well-being of her babies. She is truly a "Mother Hen". She gets along great with the other dogs at the shelter and can't wait for the chance to romp and play outside with her pups & the others. She does not shed much. She would be a nice addition to anyone's lifestyle, whether it be country or city living. Mabel has had a tough time on her own, and she needs a place to call home and put down her hobo stick. She would also like to find a home for her pups where they can grow up healthy & happy, and not have to endure the hardships she has faced. She is young herself because she loves to play with her puppies. She weighs about 35 pounds and is smaller and cuter in person than the photos show. She has been with us about a year along with 2 of her pups, Agnes and Agatha, who unfortunately have had to grow up in the shelter. They all need rescue badly.
