My Story

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Lyon (TX) is a male Cattle Dog/Red Heeler mix rescued in Texas. Our veterinary partner estimates that Lyon is 5 1/2 years old at the time of intake in October 2021. Lyon is good with people and other dogs. This very handsome boy was hit by a car and just left there to suffer and eventually die. Lyon cheated death that day when he was picked up and brought to a rural shelter. But the shelter could not provide Lyon with the medical care he required, so they asked Rescue Dogs Rock NYC to take Lyon into our rescue so he could be saved, and of course, we said YES! Unfortunately, Lyon's front leg was damaged beyond repair and was required to be amputated. But that just means that Lyon will live his best life as a tripod, and he will have a long, happy life. Lyon is sweet, loving and adorable. A fenced in yard is a must with this happy playful pup. If you can give Lyon his best life as a member of your family, please apply online to adopt Lyon (TX) at www.rescuedogsrocknyc.org. RDR's adoption fees include the cost of spay/neuter/microchip at an RDR-approved facility, whether completed before adoption or if deferred because the pet is too young or has a medical issue. All pets are also current on age-appropriate vaccines at the time of adoption Given technical constraints on this database, this pet's location may not be as listed here. We can, however, provide transport support for pets in foster at a considerable distance from the adopter.
