Meet Lush, This 4 year old little lady came to us thanks to an amazing FedEx driver who found her and 2 puppies (Coty & Bizzy) living out on their own. Lush was once a beloved pet yet the family moved away and left her behind. She ran around a neighborhood playing with other dogs, having a few food sources she frequented and being a mom. Lush earned her name honestly, she is a lush for attention. She nuzzles her head in to your lap and absolutely loves all the attention. She uses her short stocky body to push others away as she wants all your love. She is learning to walk on a leash yet will lay down when nervous leaving you begging for her to move, with a little coaxing and sweet talk she will start again. She is house-trained, only having accidents when we don't read her cues as they are suttle. We found she does best on a schedule and does great overnight. She is currently being treated for heartworms which will soon be a thing of her past! Lush would do best with a kind natured family who adores cuddles, a laid back atmosphere and a fenced yard. When meeting other dogs she is polite and starts her tail wags. She's been so tolerant of the younger dog's shenanigans it's just amazing to watch. She does cower if you reach overhead quickly which breaks our hearts yet we are working on ensuring she now knows every motion comes with love. She has a broken tail which has healed improperly yet had created the cutest tail wag you've ever seen. She is nervous on car rides and visiting new places as they are all foreign to the life she has lived. If you are interested in a calm, sweet natured girl who loves to watch you plant flowers, enjoys basking in the sun and enjoying calm mornings on the porch this girl might just be the one for you. She has been great with children yet sometimes their fast motions & excitement will make her cower. When your adoption application is received our screening team will verify the information given. Once your application has been confirmed and approved, we will be send it over to the foster parent for review to determine if your home is a good match for the dog.
