My Story
Meet beautiful Luna! This 6 to 7-year-old, 105-pound girl is full of love.
Luna enjoys walks, car rides, and playing with toys, especially her favorite squeaky toy shaped like a pop tart, Poppy. She is relatively low-energy and would be content with a walk or two each day. Luna is a mix of chill and playful, loving to lay around while quietly squeaking Poppy.
As a true German Shepherd, she is loving, gentle and protective with her family but she can be aggressive toward strangers, particularly when they come into the family home. She is working with a professional trainer who is helping Luna learn to temper her anxiety and to tolerate unfamiliar guests. Luna is likely to need continued training post-adoption in order to continue her growth in this area.
Fully house-trained, Luna signals her need to go outside by laying by or walking to the backdoor. She loves her crate, using it as a relaxation spot, and quickly goes in when asked.
Luna gets along well with other dogs, living harmoniously with her foster's resident pup and friendly when interacting with neighbor dogs through the fence. She currently lives with two teenagers and does well with them. Due to her behavior towards unfamiliar people, she may not be a good fit for homes with small children. Luna is not a good fit for homes with cats.
Although she alerts to people outside the home, she isn't bothered by house or neighbor sounds, making shared walls not an issue. Luna doesn't require a yard and would adapt well to most living spaces. She needs calming medication for vet visits and is healthy.
Luna is a gentle soul, protective and loving of her humans. She'd thrive in a quieter home with infrequent visitors or in a one-person household looking for a loving companion. If you think Luna might be a fit for your family, learn more and apply below!
We don't have information about Luna's past before rescue, but we know she is an amazing pup ready to be the best canine companion for her new home.
