Lucy is a 5-year-old Bluetick Coonhound mix and weighs between 45-50 lbs.
Our sweet Lucy was born in NY and when she was only a few weeks old, her mom was hit by a car and died. She was raised by humans and bottle fed with her siblings until her human mom found and adopted her.
She lived happily for five years with two other furry siblings until sadly, her human mom passed away suddenly. A family member tried to take all three big dogs into her home, but it wasn't working out, unfortunately.
Lucy's adoptive dog siblings found their way back to their original rescues, but Lucy's rescue couldn't be found, and she remained in the pound. FOWA stepped in and offered this sweet girl a warm bed, good food, and lots of love while she coped with all the sudden changes in her life. Lucy has and continues to settle into her foster home.
She is currently fostered with dogs her size and smaller ones, as well as a cat and small children. While Lucy tolerates the children, they do make her nervous with their loud toys and even louder voices. Lucy would love a home with another playful dog. Lucy would prefer no small children in her forever home but would likely be fine with children that visit on occasion. She tolerates and usually ignores the cat. So, we believe she’d be okay with cats.
Lucy is house trained, spayed, microchipped and up to date on her vaccinations. If you think you could provide a loving forever home to our Lucy girl, please fill out an application at www.fowarescue.org. Her adoption fee is $450.
