Lucy

Lucy is a very sweet blue Doberman that needs a new home. As far as her personality, she is very spunky. She loves to play and run, usually with other dogs if she can. She reminds me of a toddler- a lot of energy and very curious. Lucy has not met many animals she does not like- dogs, cats, cows, you name it, she will try to play. She is also very nice to everyone she meets. She does bark sometimes, but I think it is only because she wants to be playing with whoever she hears walking by on the sidewalk. Lucy has also been to an obedience class and knows how to sit, lay down, and stay (sometimes). We have been working on "heel" during our walks but she hasn't quite gotten the hang of it. My fiancée and I live in Winona , MN , which is right near La Crosse .. The reason we are looking for a better home for Lucy is that we live in a very small house with very minimal yard, which is something we were hoping to change, but due to financial issues, we will be unable to do so for the foreseeable future. Lucy needs room to run and play, and though we try to exercise her with 2-3 walks a day, we are struggling to meet her needs. I think she gets frustrated that she cannot run and play like she needs, so she tends to "speak her mind" when she wants to do that. I also think she would do well in a home with another dog or more, simply because she loves having a companion to play or explore with. Unfortunately, we are unable to afford or give room to another dog, so that is something we are hoping someone else might have for her. She has not been around many young children, but has been good with them when it has happened. However, I think the ideal family for her would have children that are a little older, at least 5, simply because she doesn't yet understand why the little ones can't play with her.
