Meet Lucy! Hello, my name is Lucy. I'm a distinguished, senior lady who knows what she wants and when she wants it. At just over 17 pounds, I could stand to lose a couple of pounds, but with proper portion control, it'll come off in no time flat. I'm a bit more reserved at first and will take my time getting to know my new surroundings. I really enjoy the company of another dog that I can build a strong bond with and look to for guidance and reassurance if necessary. Once I warm up to my people, I enjoy attention from them and will ask for it. But, I will also tell you if I don't particularly care for affection if I'm not in the mood. I could happily live with older kiddos who can read my signals, but younger children wouldn't be a good fit for me. I would do best in a quiet, mellow home. Remember how I said I'm a lady? Well, I will always go potty outside or on a potty pad when you're gone, so you don't ever have to worry about messes with me! I love doing zoomies in the fenced-in yard here in my foster home! I do fine on a leash, but I really enjoy sniffing and playing in my yard. Don't worry, if it's rainy or too cold out, I'll play with toys indoors! When I come inside, I like to have my own place to lay and nap or go to when I'm feeling overwhelmed. A place that's all my own where no one will bother me. I will come up by you on the couch and curl up for a snooze, too! I'm hoping to find my forever family who will let me be myself and listen to me when I communicate with them!
