I am Louie the Pom Baby!

Louie has been through a lot for such a young dog – he was attacked by a larger dog when still a baby and lost his home due to no fault of his own. But despite his misfortune he is a fun-loving guy who is learning to trust other dogs again, loves to swim and go for long walks.

Louie is looking for that special person who will help him continue to overcome his fear of being attacked again when first meeting a new dog and who understands that seeing and meeting new dogs can bring back bad memory’s of when he was bitten in which case Louie tries to scare the other dog away by trying to make himself sound and look scary.

That special person will also introduce him to ‘friendly’ dogs so he can romp through fields with them, go for a swim or play a game of chase knowing that tomorrow we are going to have even more puppy-fun.

So far Louie has had a busy week socializing and has made quite a few new friends dog and human alike. He is not the discriminating type and will happily play with anyone, as long as they are gentle and not too pushy.

Louie is an absolute pleasure around the house and yard, housetrained, does not bark unless someone comes to the door and can spend hours chewing on bones and play with his toys. He is also very respectful of the other 2 dogs and 3 cats in the house, does not mind sharing his toy’s or treats and would do very well and benefit from sharing his new forever home with another friendly dog or two.

Louie has everything going for him, he is young, smart – he picked up some tricks by simply copying my hound – and don’t forget ‘good looks’

• I am about 10 months old
  
• I am about 11lbs of playful puppy fun
  
• I am UTD with shots
  
• I only shed lightly - regular brushing will take care of my beautiful coat
  
• The wound on my side is now healed nicely, the hair will gradually grow back..
  
• I am a gentle soul; don't mind being picked up and love to snuggle.
  
• I love to go for walks, and I enjoy lots of exercise!!
  
• I am housetrained!!
  
• I love to swim and fetch sticks from out of the water. If you have a pool, you MUST take extra special care as I will try to find a way to jump in, even if the cover is on
• I would enjoy playing with children that are respectful and not too small due to my size. .
  
• Since I am very smart I have learned the following in the past 2 weeks; come when called, stay close when off-leash, sit and jump-up on pretty much anything on cue! My foster mom said tricks would be next!

• This dog will not be adopted to families with children under 12
  
  
• Louie's adoption fee is $375.00.
  
• All applicants must be 25 yrs or older
• Applicants must be within 3 hr driving distance from Hamilton ON
