My Story

Can't adopt but want to help? Please contact [email protected] to find out about sponsorship, fostering, and other ways you can help this animal! Please note that financial sponsorship will be applied to the specific animal you indicate unless it is not needed, at which time we will let you designate it for another HT animal of your choice.

You can save animals like Louie by becoming a foster! Fosters are like way stations between high kill shelters and forever homes. We need fosters so that we can save dogs before they are euthanized at the shelters, so that they have more time to find a permanent family. If you are interested in becoming a foster, please click here and email the questionnaire to [email protected].

Louie and Penny and sister were picked up in a neglect case. They are wonderful pups. Animal control went repeatedly to their house leaving notes and finally just took them. The day before they were taken by Animal Control, someone went out and bought a bag of Kibbles and Bits, ripped open the bag and flung it in the yard for the dogs. So when they were taken by animal control, they were emaciated but with these huge bellies after gorging themselves.
