Pictures taken 5/10/10 and posted 5/13/10. Hi, my name is Shelby and I am about five years old, I weigh 10 pounds, and I was an owner-surrender. I have had several homes in my short life, which is really not fair, because my foster Mom says I am a very sweet girl! I am house-trained, will sleep in my bed and know how to fetch a toy. I eat well, I am healthy, and I am very smart.
I was born with a luxating patella, which is a medical term meaning that my kneecap moves around when I walk. I have been checked by (at least) TWO doctors who say I do NOT need surgery; I was born this way and I am used to it. I walk a little bowlegged, but my foster Mom said that’s cute. I limp a little, but it doesn't slow me down a bit. In other words, unless you're really looking for something wrong, you don't notice the problem.
The only other thing you should know is that I would likely be happier being an “only” dog or in a family with one other very submissive dog. I am an alpha female and do not get along with the alpha female who was already living in my foster Mom’s house. I am fine with cats. My breed requires grooming and careful attention to the eyes; I deserve a FOREVER home where I am appreciated and loved.
