My Story

This very handsome purebred Boxer is 9 years old and lost his loving foster mom to a very sudden death in July 2009. She had rescued Lincoln in from a neglectful situation. He was tied out most of his life and half starved. He was heartworm positive and had developed an ear infection at a younger age that had not been treated. He used to walk with his head tilted because of the ear infection. Lincoln has been treated for heartworms, is deaf in his right ear and has some vision difficulties. Due to his vision difficulties he lost his footing and fell down some stairs causing more damage to his right eye. He has been treated by Dr. McGruder who thinks his eye is doing well, albeit blind now.

Even with these disabilities, he's a happy undemanding dog. Lincoln can sleep like a log (a Lincoln log), relishes a nice walk and loves the occasional sunray to find him and suns himself. He is sure everyone is his friend. What he needs is a special human friend to spend the rest of his life with.

Lincoln is very good with other dogs, but would prefer not to be in a large pack. Since his foster mom's demise, he has been living with over ten dogs. He would love to live the rest of his life in a calmer home, with a soft bed and a little one on one attention now and then. Please consider meeting Lincoln and let him win your heart as he makes you smile.
