My Story

Lincoln came to BHRG from the humane society in Moultrie. He was confiscated from an extremely neglectful situation. His rescuers had to carry him to the vet who said Lincoln was with 24 hours of death. His photos show how he looks after a few weeks with Moultrie Humane. To see how he looked when they confiscated him, click here. He has been treated for every parasite known to man and will begin treatment for heartworms once he's a bit healthier. Lincoln is red & white boy and is 4 to 5 years old. He is a "velcro dog" – anytime jis foster mom moves away from him, he comes along. While eating the other night, he ate all the canned food out of his bowl leaving the dry, so I picked up the bowl to give him more canned… as starved as he was and had been, he allowed me to take the bowl away from him. I also gave him a treat – Beggin' Strip – he had no idea what it was, and dropped it….once he sniffed it a while, he happily ate. Probably never had a treat before. Lincoln is very gentle and has a wonderful deep voice. He is not crate nor house trained, but we're working on that. What a wonderful boy!
