My Story
Hi! My name is Lily Dora. I am a petite, sweet, loving, 3 year old Dal. I love hugs, kisses, ear scratches, and snuggles. I like to bury my rawhide bones in the backyard, chase balls, and lay at my mommy’s feet. I always welcome my family home with a tail wag and a kiss for anyone who lets me. My Mommy says I’m very polite. For example, when I’m done playing outside, I wait by the door for someone to let me in. If no one notices me sitting there, I bark, just once, to get their attention. Once I come in, I always make sure I say hello to everyone. And, my mommy is amazed that I come get her and lead her to the kitchen whenever my water dish is empty. I was found on the streets and lived in a shelter for a few months, but have been with my family for over a year. I was very skinny and nervous at first, but have filled out and relaxed a little. I love my whole family, but it’s just too big for me. I have a mommy, daddy, and three (two-legged) littermates. I am very gentle, even with the 4-year old. Sometimes, when my litter mates get more attention than I do, or when their friends come to visit, I get nervous and confused. I’m not sure if the visitors belong in our house, so I bark at them and then run away. My family knows I had a hard early life, and that I don’t understand how to be part of a busy family. They just want me to be happy, so if you have a quiet family and would like a quiet, gentle, loving Dal, I think we’d be great together!
