My Story

Lily completed her heartworm treatment, and she was just spayed at Oak Grove Animal Hospital. This means she is now ready to find her forever home! Lily is a 2 year old Shih Tzu/American Pit Bull Terrier mix weighing 23lbs. Before joining the rescue, she had little to no human contact and feared most interaction with her fosters. Since being in their home, however, she has made so much progress! Her future adopters need to be patient and understanding and must take things slow with her. She does not sit in laps but likes to sleep in bed with her fosters at night. She doesn't like to be crated, but her fosters put her in her kennel when they leave the house. Lily thrives around other dogs, so she needs a canine companion to serve as a mentor to her. She will follow what they do and learn from them! She is the most sweet and gentle little soul. If you are interested in adopting Lily, please submit an application at www.rescuerowinc.org. *Please check your junk email folder if you do not receive a response from a Rescue Row member within 3 business days. *You must live within an hour of the DFW Metroplex because we do trial adoptions and require a homecheck *Our adoption fees are as follows paid by cash, a check made out to Rescue Row, Venmo: @Rescue-Row or at Zelle: [email protected] Dogs 12 weeks-6 months old: $300 adoption fee Dogs 7 months and older: $275 adoption fee Rescue Row is a 501(c)3 (non-profit) all volunteer dog rescue organization serving the DFW Metroplex. We are dedicated to rescuing dogs in shelters, dogs in abusive or neglectful situations, and dogs surrendered by their owners because of difficult circumstances. We place dogs in loving, responsible, committed permanent homes, following a comprehensive adoption process, which includes taking considerable care in finding good matches and educating prospective adopters about the responsibilities and costs of bringing a dog into their homes and lives. Dogs in our care are spayed or neutered, microchipped, receive all appropriate veterinary care and treatment, and placed in nurturing foster homes while they await placement in their permanent homes. We assist dogs in distress without regard to age, breed or ease of placement. Dogs in the greatest need take priority. Finally, we strive to work with shelters and other rescue and humane organizations to develop a network of supporters and volunteers in order to create a better world for homeless dogs.
