My Story

Placement limited to within an hour's drive of Albany, NY. We cannot currently place pets in Massachusetts. Please take a few moments to read this ENTIRE section, which should answer most of your questions. NOTE: CAPP's Facebook page was stolen and Facebook has repeatedly ignored our requests to turn it back over to us or delete it. There are puppies posted on our Facebook page requiring a "deposit". DON'T RESPOND! It's a scam. We never ask for deposits for our pets! The first step in our adoption process is to print, fill out and submit an application, available at http://capp-petplacement.org/adopt/ LILA, 2 year old spayed female Bernese Mt. Dog/Lab, 55 pounds. Everything is new to her since Lila was used for breeding, had 2 large litters by 18 months of age, and most likely lived in a barn from birth until CAPP rescued her. She is loving her new life and is adjusting well, but she is sometimes wary in new situations or when people move around her quickly. A quiet, patient, all adult home is best for this girl--she is too shy to be around active children. She is very strong on leash, so a fenced yard is preferred. With patience and some obedience training, she would make a great walking or hiking companion. Lila's repressed puppyness is surfacing, and she enjoys playing with polite male dogs near her size. Please note that she is not an apartment dog! $150 adoption fee. SOME OF OUR GENERAL POLICIES: 1) Pets can be seen at infrequent pet adoption clinics or BY APPOINTMENT TO APPROVED APPLICANTS ONLY since we are not an animal shelter and we foster pets in our own homes. Application and general adoption fee schedule (exceptions noted in pet's description) at www.capp-petplacement.org . 2) For the safety of the dog and children, we generally DO NOT place senior dogs or dogs under 35 pounds in households where children under 8 years old either reside or visit frequently. 3) Note that, unless we have prior records on a rescued pet, ages, grown weight for puppies, etc. are estimates only. 4) If you are interested in a CAPP pet, read CAPP's Program page on our web site which fully explains our adoption process.
