Liberty (Libby)

Liberty (Libby) is a 5 year old (DOB 4/8/05), female Chesapeake Bay Retriever. She came to the humane society already blind, and unfortunately, shortly thereafter, both of her eyes had to be removed due to complications from cataracts and glaucoma. Today one could never image the pain Libby must have endured because of her happy, positive disposition. Liberty is making her transition into home life very well. Occasionally she will bump into objects, but generally can navigate throughout the house using her sense of smell and touch. Ideally, her forever home would have a fenced in yard, very few steps (or gates in place), and be as clutter-free as possible. Libby loves to go for long walks with her foster mom… one of her favorite destinations is the ice cream shop for a pup cup! Liberty is a quiet dog (not a barker), and she enjoys the company of cats and other respectful dogs. Libby should actually have some constant company, as she gets anxious when left alone. She delights in just hanging out, following you around the house or yard, and would like to live out the rest of her life with a true, loving family.
