My Story

Libby has found her forever home with Pamela and Greg T. in Franklin, MA

UPDATE 5/27: Libby is being fostered in Onset, MA.Please apply for her now!

Libby Lou is a beautiful labby girl that is 78 lbs and is approx 4 years old. She has a low to moderate activity level and loves attention, running, and chew treats. Libby gets nervous during thunder storms. She can be initially shy with new people. She is OK with cats, but may chase them if they run. She is crate trained and is housetrained with a doggy door, so should be fine in the house. She had a bruised tendon in her leg which causes her to limp from time to time, but resolves quickly with rest. Her ideal home would be one with adults or older children.

Here is what her Onset foster mom has to say: " I have had Libby for one week and I just saw her video on the website. that is not the Libby I know! She was like that when I when I first got her, very shy and withdrawn. Two days later as I arrived home she was standing there wagging her tail and looking very excited to see me. ( It melted my heart!) Ever since then she has been a very happy dog who loves to be with people. in fact, while I am sitting here at the computer she is nudging my arm to pet her. She does not appear to know any commands and she does very well on a leash, does not pull. She went to the beach and my kids said she jumped right into the water and even sat in it, until a wave over took her. She is so excited to be with people and has no bad habits like chewing or jumping up on people. She has had a few accidents in the house (after first getting there), but that is certainly expected. I have another male yellow lab here and they get along great. Neither one of them wants to be the alpha leader." Her adoption fee is $300.

Please complete an online APPLICATION if you wish to adopt. Forever Home Rescue New England is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.
We are a network of foster homes in the South and the New England area. THERE IS NO SPECIFIC SHELTER LOCATION. If you wish to meet our dogs, you must first be approved by going through our application and screening process.

Forever Home Rescue suggests obedience training for all puppies and dogs. All dogs are up to date on their shots, dewormed and spayed or neutered. Vet fees, transport fee and New England quarantine fees ARE INCLUDED in each dog's adoption fee. Also, any dogs older than pups--even if they are not marked housetrained in their posting---usually housetrain within a day or two, because most are used to living outside in the south and will prefer to "do their business" outdoors.
