My Story

My name is Lexa, I’m a 5 year old Boxer/Staffy mix, and I want to be your new best friend! I want to go where you go, I want to cuddle with you on the couch and watch TV, and I promise I will not let you out of my sight for too long. I will even sleep faithfully on the floor next to you at night. My foster parents say I am the sweetest and loving dog they have fostered to date! I’m fully house broken, I will whine at the door and turn in circles when I need to go out. I’m also fully crate trained, but my foster family has learned that I don’t really need it and I am really well behaved when you leave me alone. I will wait patiently by the door or window until you return where I will great you with a little dance, and some kisses. I’m medium low energy and roughly 50 lbs. I did have a run in with a porcupine, and unfortunately ended up losing an eye because of it, I have learned how to adjust to it, and I see and move like any other dog. I love exploring on walks, and sniffing the trees, I don’t mark at all, but I do pull a bit on the leash, my foster parents have been working on this with me. I also barely shed at all. I know my basic commands like sit, shake, no, off, leave it, and I’m working on stay! I’m also very curious, so a fenced yard or a secure area outside for me is a must. Right now, besides walks, my favorite outdoor activity is playing with my rope in the back yard and some tug. I’m the only pup in my foster home, I have met a lot of people, and am really good with them, and super friendly, also amazing with kids. Cats are unknown although I don’t seem to have any prey drive. Other dogs are kind of up in the air at this point, so my foster folks are recommending a single dog home. However I have recently shown some improvements in getting along with my fellow canines, so if you have other dogs a few get togethers will be imperative. Do you think you could be my best friend? Let’s meet! adoption fee is $295. She is spayed, microchipped, dewormed, current on vaccines and has received a wellness exam. link to adoption application https://www.newhoperescue.org/adoption-application/
