My Story

Thank you for choosing to adopt or foster and aid in the rescue efforts of RARE!  **Adoption Interest Form REQUIRED via our website Rarerescue.org** Meet King Leon!  Are you ready to welcome royalty into your home? King Leon, a majestic Cane Corso around 3-4 years old, weighing 127 lbs, is seeking his forever kingdom where he can reign with love and loyalty. He is still slightly underweight and will gain another 10-12 lbs. Despite his size and strength, King Leon is a gentle giant who exudes regal charm. He is known for his calm and composed demeanor, making him a perfect companion for those who appreciate both strength and grace in a canine companion. King Leon adores people and cherishes every moment spent in their company. His gentle nature and loving heart make him a wonderful addition to any loving family. He gets along well with friendly female dogs and submissive male dogs, showcasing his social and amiable personality. Rescued from a large-scale breeding and neglect case, King Leon's past as the stud for all the Cane Corsos bred on the property is behind him. Now, he is looking forward to a future filled with love, care, and companionship. While he may bark once to alert you of someone's presence, King Leon is typically very quiet and well-mannered. King Leon would thrive in a home with a fenced yard where he can enjoy some outdoor playtime and stretch his legs. If you believe you have the royal touch needed to provide King Leon with the loving forever home he deserves, please consider completing our adoption application at rarerescue.org. Open your heart and home to King Leon and let him reign as the king of your heart! BASIC INFORMATION: Suggested Breed(s): Cane Corso Gender: Male Approx. Age or D.O.B: 01/15/2021 Approx. We feel the same way! The DOG ADOPTION INTEREST FORM is important and REQUIRED for this reason.  All of our Adoptables are: Spayed/neutered; Up to date on vaccines; Heartworm tested if six months or older (& kept on heartworm preventative and treated for heartworms if positive when entering our program): Microchipped prior to adoption BREEDS: We are not breed experts. The breed(s) listed for each adoptable are best guesses or suggestions. PLEASE NOTE: We are a non-profit organization without municipal or government funding. Veterinary/Medical expenses are constant for an animal rescue. Our adoption fees not only help to provide vetting and care for the animal being adopted, but they also help to cover heartworm treatments and other treatable ailments that many animals, that would otherwise be euthanized, need in order to be made available for adoption. Please understand that adopting an animal is a LIFETIME COMMITMENT to that animal and there will be veterinary expenses throughout their life that can often cost several hundreds, if not thousands of dollars (without pet insurance), especially without annual checkups and preventative care.  As a potential family for this pet you are responsible for their safety and that includes keeping them on your property. ***If you are not in the middle Tennessee area, transport can potentially be arranged to approved homes, depending on distance and local adaptability. We normally do not allow adoptions outside of 1.5 hours driving distance.
