Attention all DOODLE lovers! Meet LEO, a handsome 2 year old NEWFIE-DOODLE (Newfoundland/Poodle mix) who was surrendered to our rescue, through no fault of his own, when his previous owners living situation changed, and they could no longer keep him. LEO IS NOW AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION AND READY TO FIND HIS FOREVER FAMILY! Newfie-doodles are known for being gentle giants with a sweet temperament, are very intelligent and affectionate, and MAKE GREAT FAMILY PETS! In the short amount of time that Leo has been with us we have learned that he fits this description to a tee! He has a sweet, loving, friendly, easy going yet playful, goofy personality as BIG as his size! LEO currently weighs 70 lbs, but we are told that he is underweight and should ideally weigh around 90 lbs so we are making sure he gets plenty to eat! He is a tall and athletic boy who moves and runs with amazing speed and grace! He loves having the freedom of exploring the big backyard at our rescue and he really seems to enjoy playing catch and frisbee and he's doing great walking on leash! Although he is settling in to shelter life as best he can, we know he is YEARNING FOR A NEW FAMILY TO CALL HIS OWN! His ideal home would be an active family with older, dog savvy children or an adult only home who preferably has previous experience owning large breed dogs. He already knows some basic commands like sit and down and he would love it if his new family would continue his training and teach him some new tricks! He will be tested with dogs and cats soon, so keep checking for updates, but if you have another pet at home, and are interested in possibly adopting Leo, dont let that prevent you from submitting an adoption application anyway (no pressure or commitment! Leo is neutered, UTD on vaccines and healthy. All that hes missing is YOU! PLEASE CONSIDER GIVING LEO A SECOND CHANCE AT THE LIFE HE DESERVES!
