Everyone say hi to Leia! She is a 3 year old, 45 lb Border Collie. This sweetie is a local owner surrender due to her owner's health issues. She is housebroken and learning her crate is her safe place. She can be nervous in her crate along with some of life's experiences. She may nip when nervous or uncomfortable. She hasn't played with any toys, but she has been introduced to the treadmill, and she enjoys her walks outside. She will need a special and patient adopter who understands the breed and the quirks of the breed. Agility may be an activity to consider. The adopter will have to be willing to continue to work with her. Leia's foster says she can be a really sweet dog. She knows her obedience well, walks nice on a nose loop, and walks by other people and dogs well. Leia is looking for a forever home with a woman that is somewhat active and understanding of the herding breed temperament. Young kids make her nervous, so would not be a good fit. Leia would probably do fine with an older, calm male dog in the home. Included in Leia’s adoption fee is an obedience class to help set Leia and her new family on the right foot!
