Leaf

This is a courtesy post with a rescue partner. “Leaf” is a timid 9-month old male collie who just wants the chance to settle and be loved. He is being bullied by one of the other collies in the pack and needs to put on some pounds. We don’t know yet whether there is a medical reason causing him to be underweight, or if he is just being chased away from the communal food dish, but we will provide what is needed to isolate any cause. His current owner plans to give him a pasture of his own to see if he might eat more if he isn’t being bullied. Leaf does not have experience living in a house and will need to learn just about everything, but he has a typical collie nature and we expect him to thrive in the right environment. Because of concerns over his weight, we are making him our first priority from this group. He needs an experienced owner with a secure, physical fence to start with, homes with electric fences will not be considered. All fosters and adopters must be within our local coverage area. The process includes: interested party submitting a completed adoption application, followed by rescue reviewing the application and references checked. This will be done prior to the prospective adopter being contacted by a rescue volunteer. A home visit will be conducted before the adoption will be finalized.
