My Story

Meet Layla!

Layla is a fun, active girl who gets along with everybody. We can't figure out why she hasn't yet been adopted! We are guessing her age at approximately 2 or 3 years old.

Layla is a sweetie. She gets along well with the two other dogs in her foster family, in fact, they can play together for hours. Her foster mom says that she's just perfect and that she hasn't noticed any "bad" habits. She loves to play with her toys. Layla is very good at catching toys (or treats!) in mid-air. Once she gets going with that game she never wants to stop!

Layla is not a destructive chewer. Like a cat, she's found a dark little cubby hole in a closet at her foster home where she likes to snuggle in and nap. She's not a barker, but when she gets excited she sounds a bit like an opera singer -- pretty entertaining.

Layla is very energetic, so she will need to go to a home with another energetic dog(s) or with a person who enjoys an active lifestyle, like running or hiking. She will need to be exercised in some way to keep her happy and healthy.

We think Layla is a Cattle Dog mix -- possibly with Pit bull, but who knows? She's got the cutest little up-turned nose. Where does that come from?

If you are interested in Layla, please contact me at [email protected]. Please include the following information in your e-mail:
Do you have other pets now? (dogs/cats)
Have you had dogs in the past? What became of them?
What kind of exercise are you willing to provide for the dog?
Do you have children? What are their ages?
How long/often will the dog be alone?
Where will he stay when you are gone?
Where will he be when you're home?
Where will he sleep?
Do you live in a house or an apartment?
Do you have a securely fenced yard? Please briefly describe your fence.
Do you expect any changes to your current lifestyle in the future (e.g., moving, marriage, having children)?
Anything else you'd like us to consider.

Leila's adoption fee is $150.00.

Indigo does not adopt on a first-come-first-served basis. We try to find good matches between dogs and people/families to ensure life long adoptions. If the dog you're interested in seems compatible with your situation, we'll set up a time for you to meet.

We keep our Petfinder pet list up to date; therefore, if a dog is still listed, it is available (but might have other people interested in it).

Indigo delivers all of our rescues to their adoptive homes. Therefore, we are only able to adopt to homes within a 50 mile radius of Portland. Sorry, there are no exceptions.

Thank you for your interest in adopting and saving a life!
