Layla

Meet Layla! She is a 5-year-old Australian Shepherd mix we have available for adoption. Layla has lived outside most of her life and is unfortunately Heartworm & Lyme-positive. She has completed her treatment and now is just waiting for her six month retest to see if she is negative! Her future home should have a large yard for her to run in or an active owner that is willing to give her lots of exercise! Layla is a gentle girl who is very easy to walk on a leash, so going for long walks will be enjoyable! If you are looking for a loyal girl who wants to spend all day with you, Layla is the dog for you! She loves everyone she meets and is quite the social butterfly. She does have some separation anxiety, so she will need an owner who is home most of the time, or someone who is willing to help build her confidence when she is left alone. Layla is so affectionate and will gladly plop right next to you for some belly rubs. She is so sweet. We have tested her with other dogs, and she does very good with them as long as they are respectful players. She could potentially go home with another dog as long as it's a good match!
