Landon is 2 years old. He was born on April 6, 2008. His former owner had to give him and his sister Lottie (also available for adoption and it would be nice if they could be adopted together LOTTIE ), to our partner shelter because she could not care for them properly
Just like his sister, Landon is very sweet and loving and so wants to be with people. Both Lottie and Landon were very matted and smelled of mildew when they came into the shelter, but they have been groomed and feel and look much better now. Landon does pretty well on a leash and hasn't met a dog or person he hasn't liked.
Landon's former owner did not house train him but now that he is in foster care his new family has him on a real schedule and he is doing amazingly well. He still has an occasional accident but is already going to the door to ask to be brought out so with a bit more time and positive reinforcement this smart little cookie should have it down. He is not destructive, plays with his own toys and loves to snuggle with you on a chair, in bed, or anywhere you are.
Landon does pretty good in the car, and is the ultimate lap dog.
A secured fenced yard will be required for applicanats with children, as Landon may get by a child at the door. He is exuberant in his play, but should do well with respectful children 5 and older.
Grooming is a must, and Landon will need to be taken to the groomers approximately every 5 or 6 weeks to keep his nails short and prevent matting.
Landon gets along with cats, so a home with respectful cats should be fine.
Landon is up-to-date on shots, is neutered, and has been tested for Heartworms/Lyme/Ehrlichia. He weighted 10.1 pounds when he went to the vet on June 6, 2010. Landon is on HW preventative. .Landon is up-to-date with routine shots and spayed/neutered Please consider Landon.

This dog is available unless it is marked as Pending, meaning "pending adoption".
If this Dog is marked Urgent, it is because the Arkansas shelter where he/she resides is overfull. Please do not ask local shelters to take this dog in, there are many reasons why they cannot. Please also do not send us letters about why we euthanize, AHR does not euthanize, but the shelters we work with do. We are a rescue and we pull as many dogs as we have foster homes and funds for. We, like the shelter, do not have unlimited resources. Please, please: foster, adopt or sponsor a dog to help save their lives.
. We pay a Transportation Service from Arkansas to bring the dogs to New England. The adoption fee is $300 for dogs up to 6 months of age, $250 for dogs 7 months-5 years, and $200 for dogs 5 years and older.
