Lady Dane SAFE!!

UPDATE 10-18-10 - LADY DANE IS NOW LADY SARAH DANE AND SHE IS LIVING IN NASHVILLE. THANK YOU DONNA!!!!! UPDATE 10-16-10- The report from the vet clinic where Lady Dane is currently staying is good. She is friendly with kennel staff, responds well to affection, and has a VERY healthy appetite. She really needs someone who has the facilities (and the budget) to help her. She is an older Dane but maybe there is someone out there who can care for her in her last years? 10-15-10 - Lady Dane is a full dane who is a hard luck case from the streets. She has been running through town for several weeks and was super skittish with men so the ACO could not catch her. Finally, with the help of a woman, we were able to catch her. She is much more comfortable with women than men. She is a walking rail - only 90 pounds but should weigh close to 140 so she's very, very underweight. She is also heartworm positive but her heart and lungs sound good. The vet estimates her to be between 7-8 years old. Rumor has it that she can climb a 6 foot chain link fence but is OK in a wooden fence that high. We are a small poor rescue with a crappy building and this old girl desperately needs to get with a rescue that can handle a Dane sized dog and the Dane-sized heartworm treatment.
