Lady

Beautiful Lady lived happily in a home with children until circumstances beyond her family's control forced them to surrender her and due to lack of a suitable foster home Lady stayed at a kennel for a very long time. A few weeks ago the perfect foster home came along and Lady is blossoming! She is learning how to live again, navigate new stairs, play in the grass, splash in the water etc. She needs more work on loose leash walking and being less reactive to other dogs. Although she can be tolerant of some dogs Lady would do best in a home without other dogs. Recently, Lady met a puppy pit bull at the vet's office and she behaved very politely while the puppy tried desperately to play with her so there's a chance with the right match & introduction she could be a big sister to a puppy someday. Although the foster home doesn't have children, she's very gentle and has great manners with all the small children she's met. The next door neighbor's cats have been lounging about on the sidewalk and batting at her through the gate and Lady isn't terribly concerned; she basically ignores them or looks at her people for guidance. With careful introduction she may do well in a home with cats! She's housebroken and calm in the house so there's been no need to crate her. She's very smart and wants to please so we think she'll do well with an experienced person/family who is willing to train her. We do know she can jump very high so a tall fenced in yard is a must.
