My Story

This beautiful lady is Lacey, fun and lovable, an easy family dog with a lot of love to give. We believe Lacey to be a pittie mix of some sort, maybe Lab, but she is a rescue, so this is only our best guess. Lacey weighs in around 50 pounds, but she knows that shell still fit in your lap. People-loving and so tolerant, Lacey is a soft, loving dog, and we credit her relaxed demeanor to her age. Around 8 or 9 years old, Lacey has seen a lot, she knows what's worth barking at and what's not, and she knows how to carry herself. She's an established GOOD dog, and we love her so much for it. She is so easy to coexist with. Lacey still has a bit of energy for her age though. She will get the zoomies and then settle in next to you on the couch for some lovin. She's an easy dog for anyone to please, as long as you have a few minutes per day to give her some pets and treats. Lacey is a go-with-the-flow kind of gal, she doesn't mind being taken places, she's not easily startled, and she's great with kids. Lacey loves to cuddle. She wants a home that will make her an integral part of the family. She would love if a family member was home most of the time, but it's really not a need for her. Her foster mom says she does well in her kennel, doesn't bark or whine, and goes in with a gentle nudge. Lacey enjoys being outdoors, but she's mellow enough that a yard is not a need for her. A short walk will make her day, but she's so content to just hang out with you. She's not overly interested in toys, or games of fetch, but she'll occasionally carry a toy around just to see what the fuss is about. She likes to stand in baby pools here at the rescue and cool off her paws. Lacey is dog friendly but being a mature lady, she doesn't always want to play or roughhouse. Her perfect doggy sibling would be an easygoing pup or an older dog who knows how to relax. Lacey is good on the leash. She walks pretty relaxed and is easily redirected. Her foster mom's twelve-year-old easily walks. Walking in the neighborhood or taking a short hike would make this girl so happy. Lacey will do well in just about any home. Our behavior team has recommended a cat-free home, but she's well with everything else we've tried with her. She loves kids, loves other dogs, she loves the water, hikes, going out and about, she's good in the car. All Lacey needs is a soft place to land, a few gentle pets a day, and maybe a milkbone or two. Lacey is fostered in Texas! We would love to do a virtual meet and greet and answer any questions about this girl. We are willing to test this dog with anything you need us to to ensure she's the perfect match for you! We can make anything happen! Just let us know. Your adoption fee is considered a donation towards actual costs. Why adopt from Three Little Pitties? The stray and animal overpopulation in the Greater Houston area is the highest in the nation. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone. Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no other option but to euthanize animals for space. This dog youve found online is lucky to be in our program, and even luckier to have you notice it! Three Little Pitties wants to set you and your new pet up for success! We know our dogs and we work hard to prepare them socially for adoption. We are a network of dedicated people who are heavily invested in seeing our animals thrive. From the moment they are accepted into our program, our Intake, Behavior & Medical teams prepare them for adoption by properly vetting, behaviorally assessing, and providing customized plans depending on the dogs needs. We provide weekly socialization programs for our dogs through playgroups and group leash training classes available to all dogs in our adoption program, and Doggy Sleepover, Doggy Day Out, and Ambassador programs for our boarding dogs. There is a professional dog trainer on staff to provide support for our fosters and dogs, and an off-site dog trainer for dogs that need more extensive behavior modification. This helps us learn deeply about every dog, prepare them for adoption, and ultimately match them with loving families. We seek to adopt to families who understand that these are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts, but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be! It doesnt stop there! Our adopters also receive these special perks: 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion (must register within 24 hours of first vet appt.) A free private online dog training session with GoodPup plus low pricing for future sessions (approx $25 weekly for an 8 week course of one session per week) One free bonus toy in every BarkBox when signing up for their Super Chewer subscription plan 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a PNW based, organic fresh dog food loaf meal subscription plan Coupons for a fun visit to Petco Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! We celebrated our 5 year anniversary this year! Through the combined efforts of all of our hardworking staff and volunteers, we have placed over 12,000 very lucky dogs and cats into amazing homes! By adopting from us, you save TWO lives! The pet you adopt, and you create an opportunity for another animal to be saved in that spot. Together, we can be heroes.
