My Story

Lacy is an unbelievably wonderful dog!! If you are a runner or a hiker and like to stay active all year, this is the PERFECT dog/companion for you!

HOUSETRAINED!!

CRATE TRAINED!!

VERY AFFECTIONATE!! She loves to cuddle and kiss feet!

LISTENS!! Allowed on furniture but when told to get off she will jump down and lay on her own bed. She typically sleeps on the sofa or her dog bed. Occasionally sleeps at the foot of the bed.

SMART! Lacy has been through obedience classes. She could use a brush up she knows sit, stay, off and down.

LOVES STRANGERS! Lacy gets excited when meeting new people. She does not jump on them, she does "spring" near them. Lacy jumps straight up off all 4 feet, it is really quite comical. When indoors, she will alert you to a new arrival but greets them with a wagging tail.

MATURE! While Lacy is young at heart, she is also a 3 year old, self-aware adult that has no desire to chew your shoes or shred your couch.

LOVES THE OUTDOORS! Lacy likes to hike, and has gone on many hikes in the summer and winter and loves running through the woods. It may seem as though she has disappeared but with a few quick calls she comes charging back.

ATHLETIC AND FIT! Lacy runs, plays soccer and swims!! Lacy is a great running partner and can easily complete 5 miles. One of her favorite activities is to dribble a soccer ball, play fetch (although she does not drop the ball/toy at your feet) and swim.

SOCIAL!! Lacy really enjoys playing with other dogs at the dog park and doggie daycare. She would love a playful companion at home also.

KID-TESTED, MOTHER APPROVED! Lacy has been exposed to children- infants to 10 years old. Although she has only lived with an infant she does well around children.

CAT TESTED, FLUFFY APPROVED! She has lived happily with two cats!

MODEST! Lacy is definitely not vain. She is not timid by nature, but she does not care for the camera- and for some reason is afraid of clicker training...she could be a failed hunter!

HEALTHY!!! Lacy weighs a slender 65 pounds. She is a tall, slender girl that likes to stay in shape. She knows activity is good for her health and takes her cardio training seriously. She likes to work out regularly and seeks an active partner that feels the same way.

PLAYFUL! Though serious about working out, she can forgo her more intensive workouts with her partner on days that she has a canine partner to gallop around a large yard with.

OPEN MINDED! Lacy is a 'go with the flow', 'live and let live' - kind of girl!! She allows other canines to do as they please and has no desire to be the boss!

INDEPENDENT SPIRIT! While great at off-leash recall while hiking etc, Lacy enjoys taking in all life has to offer. This may mean exploring new and undiscovered areas, she is sensitive and contemplative that may let her appreciation and enjoyment of nature run amok! If not careful, she may unintentionally wander away from home! She appreciates the boundaries of a fence, real or underground. She is used to living with an underground fence.

LOVES TO TRY NEW THINGS! Lacy would love to try new activities thinks she would love agility training, she thinks it looks really fun!

UNENCUMBERED! Lacy is newly single and looking for the perfect match for her! She thinks an established, stable active family would be her ideal place to be! Not to be taken lightly, activity and a healthy lifestyle is a priority in Lacy's life and she is committed to it.

In short...Lacy, while at least perfect in our minds, needs a complementary home! She is searching for a loving, active, committed home to her with a fenced in yard for the rest of her life!!

2006: Sandy (now Lacy) is a sweet dog that was found living in the parking lot of a shopping center, where no one know where she had come from. Best guess is that she is an Otterhound/Lab cross. She has longer than lab hair that is wavy, and long hound ears, and a face that is shaggy. Sandy is about 7 months old and weighs about 50 pounds. She is current on shots, and spayed. She is good with other dogs, likes to play and loves to be with people. Sandy likes to roam aimlessly and would appreciate a large fenced in yard, and really loves to sniff around the woods!!! Hikers...this would be a GREAT dog for you. She is a sweet girl with a heart of gold that loves to cuddle, won't you please consider making this girl part of your family? She is so deserving!
