My Story
Koobee has flown the coup! This lovely sweetheart has found her family in Edmonton Alberta, with kids to adore her, and a catahoula buddy. Thank-you to Zoe's family, and Julie and Mark for fostering her while she waited, Liana for doing the homecheck and making this long-distance home possible, and Tiffany and Co for trusting she was meant to be their dog.
Koobee is the sweetest little chunky cherub! This gorgeous seal colored girl came abandoned by her family and wound up at Abbotsford Animal Control. When her last owner's moved on without her, the 82 year old lady next-door eventually called animal control crying because she realized that she could not keep Koobee as Koobee would outlive her.
Koobee is currently residing in Victoria with her great foster parents, their male dog whom Koobee LOVES to play with, a cat, and a couple of rats. Here is waht they have to say about her.
Koobee is such a good-natured little girl! She's a small pittie, weighing about 40 pounds, and is five years old, but has the perpetually happy & loving personality of a puppy.
She is completely cat-safe, and loves people. She gets along well with dogs she knows, and loves people. Oh, and also, she LOVES people!! Seriously, adults, kids, men, women, Koobee loves the human race, in spite of the fact that she was left abandoned in her home when her last family moved away. She is so cuddly and friendly, and her tail is always wagging. She is extremely eager to please, which along with her intelligence will make her easy to train.
She crates very well - her foster parents work during the day and she goes right into her crate and stays calmly there for the day (no barking), and comes out with a wag of her tail when they get home. She would be perfectly content in a condo or apartment. She's non-destructive and very quiet. She can be very playful with other playful dogs, but at this time we believe she takes cues from other dog's personalities and interacts with them on their own terms.
Koobee does have one issue - she has on-leash socialization issues towards other dogs. This is a problem that, with her eagerness to please, should be curable with consistent training. As long as she is kept out of leash range of strange dogs and this issue is worked on it should not be a lasting problem. Her foster parents have introduced her to several new dogs while on leash (including their own) and beyond the initial growling & distrustfulness that lasted about 20 seconds, she was completely fine with every dog afterwards. Bully Buddies can work with her new potential family to show them the ropes on socializing Koobee with new dogs. That said she could easily mesh into a multi-dog home as she is really good with other dogs once she knows them.
Koobee is such a darling love-bug - we know she will wiggle her way into her new family with ease and shower them with undying love (and kisses) if given the chance.
