UPDATE 6/30/06: Kofte and Lily are currently in the care of a temporary foster home. We have a home check scheduled for Saturday (7/1), but if it doesn't work out we will post here. It's not too late to be a foster home for some of our other animals!

My name is Kofte (that's Koof-te - Turkish for "meatball"), and I am a mixed breed rottweiler (who knows what else, maybe German shepherd?). I'm about 4 years old, neutered, current on my vaccinations, about 75 pounds (portly), and I'm both housetrained and crate-trained! I know "sit" "stay" "lay" and "shake" commands.

My favorite snacks are carrots, apples, and watermelon (complete with rind). I've been around kids, cats, and other dogs. The only time I have a problem with other dogs is when they approach my mom and dad without a leash and owner attached; then I need to protect mom and dad from them in case they are mean dogs. I protect the resident cat from my doggy friend when she harrasses it.

I only dig in the yard if I have a bone that needs to be buried. I'm accustomed to a five foot fence, and have never attempted escape. I'm afraid of thunderstorms, so I retreat to my crate; that's my safe spot. I need the vet to clip my toenails because mom says I have sensitive feet.

So why is a wonderful, young, and adorable guy like me looking for a new home? Well, mom and dad are moving to the Middle East and don't feel that it would be safe for me and Lily to come along. As of 6/17, we have two weeks to find a permanent of foster home.

Just remember that I can not be adopted or fostered without my friend Lily, and she can not be adopted or fostered without me. We are bonded, and need to stay together!
