My Story
Meet Koala!
Koala was abandoned at our Saving Hope Sanctuary with his littermates. We soon discovered that the entire litter was hearing/sight impaired. A few weeks later, Koala moved in with his foster family.
Over the weeks, they discovered that Koala can hear a tiny bit, but he doesn't know where the sound is coming from. He for sure knows when the food dish is being filled though! We can't tell how much he can see at this time because he relies on his sister to know what to do. He follows her around and wants to be near her, another foster dog, or a human. As a hearing/sighted impaired dog, he will need another seeing dog in the home to help him navigate the world.
Koala is absolutely the sweetest puppy! He loves to snuggle and be held. He's much prefer napping in a warm lap than the floor. He really loves fluffy doggie beds too.
Most 8 week old puppies have spurts of massive amounts of energy and then sleep for a while, but Koala is really laid back and much prefers to lay about. While he will play with his sister and foster friends, he's a huge fan of naps.
Koala isn't a fan of the crate, but will with the proper incentive. He's a big fan of tough chew sticks and puzzles. Once he's engrossed in those, he'll happily crate while you work or run errands.
Koala is your typical puppy in that he's trying his best to figure out house training and will go outside, but he'll need someone patient while he figures it out. In time, he'll get it!
Koala is such a sweet and laid back guy. He'll make a nice addition to a family looking for another fur friend.
