King

Lots of FUN, has an active spirit, Intelligent, companion dog, jack of all trades! Will try anything once to see if he likes it, Animated Project dog needs training- LOVES working with you! King is an energetic, lovely boy looking for a forever home! He has had a hard start coming from a bad situation but has come such a long way. He was brought in by protective animal welfare services (PAWS) neglected and emaciated. He came to shelter in mid April at 22kg very skinny and underweight and has now made it to 27kg and is still gaining! He has done well and is now looking for a new healthy start! He has come such a long way and would love to meet you! King does have some resource guarding with food and will need to be managed. He just needs to know what is expected of him and then he works well with you. He will take food nicely from hand when told gentle - has been improving so much at the shelter - Giving the command leave it and then taking things away works best with him or trading for with other treats/objects works well too! He is still learning but coming along so nicely! King is very intelligent! Once he knows what is expected of him, he will work with you and make it in his routine. He needs to be socialize with other dogs - He has never been around cats, would not recommend cats, and no small children - He is not aggressive, he's just not careful. He loves wandering around outside with you outside- so having a fenced in area would benefit him. Using a long lead would work best for recall training. He is a lot of fun and has so much potential when given the chance!
