My Story

Meet King! King is a handsome and active boy in need of a new home. His previous owner was a travelling nurse who just didn't have the time or ability to care for King the way he deserved. King is now 10 months old and weighs 55#. He was a shy boy when he first arrived at CCHS, but he's come out of his shell and gotten used to our routine. King is still a puppy at heart, so he will do best with an active lifestyle that will help him to burn off some of his extra energy. Because he is so active, we don't think he'd be the best fit for young children. He could accidentally knock a child over without meaning to. But he'd love a family that goes for long walks or hikes and would like to take him along. If you'd like King to join your family, please apply to adopt him today! Approved applicants will be notified via email. Please check junk/spam folders for a response. The adoption fee is $250. Adoption applications can be filled out at CCHS or online through our website, www.cchs-petshelter.org. Applications are not first come, first served. All applications will be reviewed by the adoption committee and the home chosen will be the one considered to be the best match. All dogs and puppies have been vaccinated for Distemper and Bordetella, dewormed and microchipped. If old enough, they will be vaccinated for Rabies and blood tested for Heartworm, Lymes, Anaplasmosis and Ehrlichiosis. Dogs and puppies will be spayed or neutered before adoption. CCHS is proud to be a No-Kill Humane Society. As a private, non-profit charity, our work depends on donations and volunteers to keep going. We are committed to helping the animals that enter our doors and finding each the best possible forever home. CCHS has been inspected and licensed by the Department of Animal Health - DATCP. Our license is #268235-DS.
