My Story

Does everyone remember Kiera, the 3 year Chihuahua mix that came to us a few months ago from Kentucky. As Kiera's current foster, we have tried to make her feel at home and show her the love she can have as part of a real family. This is all that most of our rescue pets ask for. Kiera came from a bad place of overbreeding, overcrowding and abuse but she has been learning to trust people again, play with toys, the resident cats and small dogs and even do the zoomies in her foster home. Kiera is such a sweet little girl that wants nothing more then to be the apple of someone's eye. She will need a little extra TLC to transition into a new home, but once she gets to know her new family, she will be theirs forever. She does startle and will yelp easily if scared, so a home with older children is being recommended as well as a fenced yard. This little cutie is about 15# and is acclimated to crate training, but she needs work on housebreaking. We think with consistency and someone home more often, she will pick it up in no time. Kiera is currently looking for a foster to adopt home where she can continue her training, trust and love . If you're looking for special Valentine this February 14th and beyond, Kiera would really love to meet you. Remember, time is the most precious thing we can give to our loved ones, both human and animals alike. Most of our fosters/adopters say they get just as much out of adopting as their adopted pets get from them??. Due to her current size and activity level, foster to adopt requirements are: •Living within a 2 hour radius of Adams, NY so continued vet care can be given during her foster to adopt time. •Having previous/current pets in annually at a local veterinary office and up to date on vaccines as well as spay/neutered. •Due to her current size and disposition, we are looking for homes with children over 10 years old. •Willing to have current dogs/family members come to a meet and greet to meet the pet and be sure an acceptable match. •Having time available to care for, socialize and start training of a new pet. •Having a fenced yard to keep her contained even if she gets scared. •Preference will be given to homes with previous dog experience. Kiera has been spayed, vaccinated and started on flea and tick and heartworm preventative. If chosing to adopt, our small dog adoption fee is $400. Please help us to continue helping those that knock on our doors! Apply to adopt: https://form.jotform.com/Meowchatz/pet-adoption-application-form --- Please copy and paste a completed adoption application from our homepage with your inquiry if you would like a response back. We get multiple inquires each day with only an hour of "free time" to volunteer and answer them around our full-time jobs and family life...don't let your inquiry get passed by because of an incomplete application. Thanks in advance for your help! Help our rescue by donating to our "Spay the momma fund". When adopting one of our babies, if each new family would contribute an extra $10 we can help out that babies mother by assisting with the cost of her spay. Help turn the momma into a pet rather than a breeding factory, donate today! Adoptions limited to a 500 mile radius of Pulaski, NY and pets must be viewed in person by all family members prior to adoption; animals will not be shipped to their new homes. Veterinary reference check and adoption donation also required. Check out our homepage for a full list of our adoption requirements.
