KERMIT

KERMIT is terrier/Basenji mix (we have come to feel that he is mixed with Basenji rather than originally thought a spaniel. Just look at those ears!) who is 2-3 years old and weighs 26 pounds. Kermit loves the companionship of people and other dogs. Cats too! He enjoys playing with other dogs but he is respectful of any dog who prefers not to play with him. He pulls a bit when walking on leash but that can be overcome with training. His favorite game is "fetch" or if he is being playful fetch becomes "keep away". He is smart and responds immediately to corrections. He loves to sleep in bed with family...always touching in some way. His favorite is to lay his head/neck across your neck. KERMIT is totally devoted to any adult who treats him with respect and love. Words can't express the love this guy has to give. He is sweet....sweet...sweet. His foster mom loves him like crazy but realizes he needs a family of his own. KERMIT has a high energy level so he needs a family who is prepared to walk or run with him daily. Or patience to play many indoor games of "fetch". He is very agile and can catch a tennis ball in mid-air. Another playful dog in the home would be a great way for him to burn off his energy. He can jump a 4' fence so he shouldn't be left unattended when outdoors in a fenced yard. No adoptions over 50 miles from Cedar Rapids. Indoor homes only will be considered. His adoption fee is on a sliding scale of $90 to $125. You determine the right amount for you. Extra money always goes to help other dog with vet care. .
