My Story

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Keesha is a 6 year old Keeshond. She was born December 23, 2001. She is not very adventurous but she loves lots of attention, walks, car rides and cuddling. She is a totally inside dog, the only time she likes to be outside is if you are out there with her or if she is out there with her other doggy friends. She hates to be alone. Keesha needs to find a new forever home because the German shepherd she lives with right now is not accepting her. She also lives with two black labs and a cat, all of which she gets along with just fine. Keesha does have some issues that seem to come and go. She is house broken, but does have an occasional accident in the house. Also, there are times when she will relieve herself in her crate. This seems to only happen when the other dogs are taken out for a walk and she is not taken at the same time. It also happens when there are thunderstorms if she is crated at the time. She is very afraid of storms and loud noises. She needs frequent grooming but is not at all fond of it. She does allow the mom of the house to groom her, but she still can be quite a challenge. Keesha is always happy to meet new people. She is cautious of meeting new big dogs but once she gets to know them she loves to pounce and play with them. She is afraid of small dogs. She plays with the cat, but all it takes is one hiss and she runs from the cat. She is very submissive. She would make a wonderful pet for someone who has a lot of time to spend with her and is happy just to take walks and long car rides. Although she has never had a problem with any of the kids she has been around she is not really playful with kids. Keesha has been on long road trips of up to 6 hours and totally enjoyed the trip. Keesha is spayed and UTD on vaccines. She is on Bio Spot for flea and tick prevention and interceptor as a heartworm preventative. She has also completed obedience training and will obey several commands.
