Update October 31: Kea is doing well. She is crate trained and loves people. She will hold her own playing with other dogs. She loves to be near people. She plays hard and then loves to lay in the sun. Kea can be full of herself in a funny way. She and her brother love to jump and hop through the yard. They are the happiest puppies the foster family has seen. Updated: Aug. 9, 2006 I’m a teeny bit of a wire-haired dog like my Mom. I’m black with a few chocolate highlights and I have white tips on my feet and a white spot on my neck under my chin. I’m one of the more developed puppies I am one of nine babies from momma dog who is on this site. We are only four weeks old but have begun our search for our forever home. We have to be weaned from mom before we can go to our new family. My mom and I have recently moved into a new foster home and the website will be updated with our new names. My mom was picked up by animal control and taken to a shelter when they noticed she was pregnant. She gave birth to nine darlings the same night they brought her in. No one came searching for us so our time was running out. Yes, they would have euthanized my mom and us but a S.A.F.E. volunteer came to the rescue. She had seen my mom at the shelter and just couldn't get her out of her mind, she has that effect on people you know! She and another volunteer searched to find us a foster home but the foster home could not take us for several days. Meanwhile my mom, my siblings and I stayed on the concrete floor of the kennel awaiting a miracle. The volunteers refused to give up and made arrangements for our temporary care and today we have a new foster home. Hopefully you have it in your heart to give me a home where I can sleep by your side and share all the love in my heart. I know my forever family is out there and will apply for me soon. Until then, I will hang out at my foster home and enjoy the love I receive from my foster parents.
