SD 07/04/24 02:33 DOG DAY OUT REPORT Today I: got to go on my first Dog Day Out - I was so wiggly with excitement that it took an extra minute for my new friend to get me leashed up! I didnt know how to get in the car at first so my friend helped me in, and oh boy was I glad he did; the car is funnn! I wanted to lean my whole body out the window and catch the wind with my mouf, but I was told safety first so I sat in the middle seat instead and had some snacks. We walked 3.5 miles around Jeffrey Fontana Park - that place was fun too! There were birds, dogs, squirrels and other friends to check out. With all that adventuring, I had to drink lots of water (even got to use the water fountain a couple of times ;D ), and I got the best scratches while laying under a shady tree. Before I had to go back to the shelter, we checked out Pet Food Express - lots of good smells in there; must go back! Oh, and I got in the car all on my own the last time #success Three Words to Describe Me are: Playful, Gregarious, Joyful Notes from My Walker: I just love Justins smile and the way he prances along - his personality is contagious! If you havent met a happy-go-lucky dog before, this guy is a great example. This handsome dude was a ball of energy at first: took some wrangling to leash him up, and had to endure a couple of jump ups that had running starts but that was short lived. Once the initial energy/excitement wore off, he was great on leash. Everyone is his friend and he wants to play with them all. It doesnt take much to redirect his attention - snacks work but you need to put them directly in front of his nose; a low whistle works best to capture his attention though. I had to lift him into the car twice but he figured it out on his own the last time.
