My Story

**Special Plea for Foster-to-Adopt Home for Juno** Meet Juno, a sweet and loving dog who has endured more than her fair share of hardship. At approximately 5-8 years old and weighing between 40-60 pounds, Juno is a special needs dog who deserves a quiet, patient, and understanding home where she can continue her recovery and find her forever family. Due to her past abuse, Juno experiences tremors that are exacerbated by over-stimulation. She thrives in a calm environment with fewer foster dogs, ideally just one other patient dog or no other dogs at all. A quiet home with a fenced yard and a scheduled feeding routine is essential for her well-being. Juno loves to run and play, and she adores her people, preferring to stay by their side or within sight. While she doesn’t experience separation anxiety when left alone, she does feel uneasy if she can’t see her family when they’re home. We believe this stems from her abandonment, which has left a lasting mark on her. Juno does well with a patient dog friend who respects her need for personal space, especially when it comes to her food and her treasured green spikey balls. She currently has three of these beloved toys and will bring them to her new home. Exercise is vital to her mental health, and she has enough stamina to walk around the block. She does well in a kennel (not a crate) and needs a 5x10 kennel at maximum to avoid feeling trapped, as she was once locked in a house, which has had a significant impact on her mental state. Juno enjoys lying on her cot with a fan blowing on her, and she is accustomed to eating two meals a day and sleeping in her kennel at night. Although she may occasionally have an accident if overwhelmed outside, she generally holds it well. Juno thrives on a structured schedule and routine. Given her special needs, Juno should not be in a home with small children or small animals. While in the foster-to-adopt program, Juno will remain under our financial care. There is a possibility she may have Addison's disease, but we are still in the process of confirming this diagnosis. We will thoroughly discuss her medical needs with any potential foster-to-adopt family. Juno is a medium-energy dog who needs a foster-to-adopt situation where she can continue to heal and feel safe. If you are local or semi-local to Cullman and can provide a loving, stable home for Juno, please consider opening your heart to this special girl. She deserves a chance to experience a life full of love and care. Please private message us with any questions about Juno. Juno is special and this is a special case and she needs a special person. We need everyone to please share Juno so we can find that perfect place for her!
