My Story

Animal Profile: Juno aka Juju is an estimated 2-3 year old 45 lb spayed female Texas mixed breed who came into the shelter with four puppies who have since been adopted. In temporary foster care she has been easy going and affectionate with people and good with all other dogs. She's doing great in the crate and pretty good on leash as well! We will share more about her as we get to know her in foster care. Foster Update: Juno has transitioned to her new foster so well! Her foster mom describes her as " She's just a delight to be around, such a sunny personality." Juno is housebroken, does great in her crate and is really friendly with people and dogs. She is really intelligent and wants to please people so she will pick up on training quickly. She's working on basic commands with her foster and learning her leash manners as well. Juno has a tendency to jump (she wants to be as close to her people as possible) and this will require a bit of ongoing training for her to learn to keep all 4 paws on the ground. She is great at following all the queues from the resident pup in her house and she's really eager to play when he wants to. Juno is currently living with a cat and doing well so far, but she does have a strong prey drive so any future introductions to cats need to be slow and intentional. She likes toys and bouncing around and is an A+ cuddle bug too. Juno would be fine as an only dog with an active family looking for a playful pup, or with another dog to play with. She's met young children and did great with them too! We will continue to update her profile as we get to know her more. Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, microchip with registration, and health certificate. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. All adoption fees go toward the care of all dogs in our rescue.
